I thought I would feel different

Honestly, if it weren't for the pee sticks (and the beta tests. Oh, and those ultrasound thingys), I wouldn't believe you if you told me I was pregnant. Since I know, there are some other clues (falling asleep on the couch every evening, an increased appetite), but I honestly don't feel any different.

I think I'm still in the unicorn stage. I mean, I'm looking at car seats and strollers online, and I'm reading all the books with the cute little babies on the covers, but that doesn't mean I actually believe there are going to be little people living in our house with us by the end of the year.

I know other women experience this. Perhaps when I can feel them move? Will it seem more real then? Or will I be sitting in my living room in October trying to figure out where the crying's coming from, and why it's happening in my house?

Did it take too long for this to happen for it to ever feel normal?

I am a long time lurker and I must say I love your blog and I cannot be more excited for the babes! I think it takes a long time, in normal circumstances, to really "feel" like you're pregnant. But, once you have the belly and you "look" pregnant, it really starts to sink in. Congrats!

I hear ya sister. I always thought pregnancy would be this really intense thing and I was sure I would feel entirely different. Not so much. I'm more than 27 weeks and it sometimes still feels like a dream. But yes, movement does make it feel more real. And then your boobs might start leaking and your feet might swell up.... then you feel different. But I think until there is actually a live baby in our arms we still have to pinch ourselves.

I know what you mean! I'm almost 19 weeks and somedays I'm still like..oh yeah I'm pregnant! I definitely felt KU when I was nauseous all the time though. Now that I'm starting to feel him/her kick it feels more real as well.

Honestly, it happened with me almost instantaneously. But, I had a LOT of morning sickness. I think as soon as you see them on an ultrasound and they look like actual little people instead of little aliens - it will feel real.

Have I told you how excited I am for you?? :)

Now that I actually have a belly and can sometimes feel flutters it seems more real. I had days where I thought, "Is this for real?" I thought about going to the store to get more pregnancy tests.

besides some exhaustion and breast tenderness (both of which disappeared fast) I had NO symptoms of pg in the beginning. When he started moving it definitely felt more real. It was the coolest part and just such a special connection- that all of that was going on and no one around me knew it.
it is going to fly :)

It still didn't feel real even when we were in the car on the way home, with Jack. It still doesn't feel real. But Luke and Leia ARE real!!!!
